The First Calvinist

Are Calvinists like the serpent, we find in Genesis 3?
Open the book, take a look, and together we shall see.

But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. —Galatians 5:15

Though we be Baptist (or Christian), sometimes our understanding or misunderstanding of scripture (or an alternative view than ours) can lead to passionate discussions, arguments, and debates. However, let us be mindful of our thoughts, words, and actions, for: We are the body of Christ and we will give account as to how we treat one another.

This short work peers into the possible fallout, when the Calvinist/non Calvinist debate leaves the discussion and attacks the person(s). Replace Calvinist/non Calvinist with any other disagreement, and if not careful, it may end up the same. The hope of this book is to ask “every man [to] be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.” (James 1:19)

This book uses scripture from the King James Bible and similar capitalization. No disrespect to God is meant.

This book is written to expose the hurt and ungodliness that can and does come about when strong divisions enter into the church. It is not meant to be used to further divide or slander another brother or sister in Christ, but to be taken as a warning to all of us.

This book is written with the broad use of Calvinist and non Calvinist, not meant to be a defense or definitive work for either position. Where the book argues a particular point, it is only for the purpose to show the need for consistency in both the views and persons of whom we agree and disagree.

This book is written from the perspective of the author, from his personal experiences and those of other brothers and sisters in Christ. Where the reader believes he errs, or falsely assumes, or incorrectly instructs, may the reader lend grace and offer a reply or rebuttal for the edification of all who may read it.

If the reader should find this work helpful, please share. If the reader should find this work a waste, please cast it upon the dunghill or into the fire. Take hold of the word of God, read it, study it, meditate and memorize it, to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ. Then go help thy brother and thy sister do likewise, and share the glorious gospel with the lost as ye make disciples.
